The OABCIG Falcons fell to the Southeast Valley Jaguars 14-4 in five innings in the 3A Region 3 Quarterfinal
The Falcons started the game with a lead-off homerun from Abby Winterrowd to give the Falcons the early 1-0 lead. The Jaguars would answer in the bottom of the first by sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring four runs. The Falcons would see Karter Hemer strike out Ellie Nolte with the bases loaded. The Jaguars lead 4-1 after one inning. After the Falcons got sat down in order in the top of the second inning, the Jaguars would strike again. The Jaguars would send 13 batters to the plate in the bottom of the second, and would add eight runs to lead 12-1 after two innings, The Falcons would cut into the lead in the top of the third when Anna Hoffman collected an RBI single and Kenai Nielsen had a 2 RBI single. The Falcons cut the lead down to 12-4 going to the bottom of the fourth. The Jaguars would go on to win 14-4 in five innings.
The win advances the Jaguars to 15-10 and advances them to play 3A #13 Greene County (who defeated Cherokee 13-0 in three innings) Saturday night; the loss ends the Falcons’ season at 5-16. Other scores in 3A Region 3 quarterfinal play: 3A #7 Saydel defeated Harlan 12-2 in five innings and Humboldt defeated Algona 17-8, Humboldt will travel to play 3A #7 Saydel Saturday night
