Tornado Boys Basketball Season Ends At SBL

Scott Dickson scored 14 of his game high 27 points in the 3rd quarter helping Sergeant Bluff-Luton beat Storm Lake 68-64 in the first round of the class 3A basketball tournament.

The Warriors came into the game averaging 51 points per contest and after trailing 24-20 at the half they outscored the Tornadoes 29-17 in the 3rd quarter to grab an eight point lead heading into the final quarter. Sergeant Bluff-Luton made 19-of-30 shots in the 2nd half and committed only eight turnovers in the game as they improve to 12-10 on the year. They will now play at Bishop Heelan Thursday night.

Storm Lake’s Jaidyn Coon scored 16 of his team high 18 points in the 2nd half, Cam Boyd tallied 13, Justin Guynn had 12 points and Carson Lullmann chipped in with eleven. The Tornadoes finish the year with a record of 12-9 and graduate five seniors including Guynn, Lullmann, Landon DeMoss, Brock Turnquist, and Bachi Keyanye.
