Tornado Baseball Season Ends In Spencer

The Storm Lake baseball team left 12 runners on base in a 5-3 loss at Spencer in a class 3A sub-state quarter-final game that was completed Saturday afternoon after rain suspended the game Friday night.

The Tornadoes, who had ten hits in the game, left the bases loaded in the 1st, 6th, and 7th innings. Azael Garcia and Charlie Dvergsten each had two hits and Brock Edwards drove in two runs.

Dvergsten and Peyton Phillips were the only seniors on a team that finished 8-14 on the year. Spencer, now 12-13, will play Monday night at MOC-Floyd Valley.
