Storm Lake Boys Soccer knocks off LeMars in 3A-1 first-round playoff action

The Storm Lake Tornado Boys Soccer Team knocked off the LeMars Bulldogs in 3A-1 first-round playoff game 4-2

The Tornadoes collected a swift goal in the first half when Shawn Yang tallied his 8th of the season to give the Tornadoes a 1-0 lead. During the first half, the LeMars assistant coach was ejected at 28:52. The Tornadoes added one more goal when Yang collected his second goal of the game at 22:11 on a PK as the Tornado lead expanded to 2-0. The Tornadoes would lead 2-0 at the half.

The Bulldogs would cut into the lead 10 minutes into the second half, and the Tornado led 2-1. The Tornadoes appeared to get a goal that would put the game away at 12:46 when Raymund Hernandez scored to give the Tornadoes a 3-1 lead. However, LeMars would have an answer three minutes later and once again cut the Tornado lead to 3-2. The Tornadoes would collect the goal that would ice the match when Hernandez added his second goal of the game to extend the lead to 4-2. The Tornadoes would go on to win 4-2.

With the win the Tornadoes improve to 7-8, and advance to Monday night’s match vs Spencer at 7 pm. During the regular season, the Tigers swept the series with wins of 1-0 and 4-1. The Bulldogs wrap up the season with a record of 7-10
