Rebel baseball picks up road win over Raiders

The Sioux Central Rebel baseball team picked up a five-inning 13-1 win over the East Sac County Raiders

The Rebels got things going early and often in the top of the first when they tallied seven runs. The Rebels had the first four batters of the inning get aboard. The Rebels sent ten batters to the plate in the frame highlighted by a Jacob Hargens RBI double. After the top of the first, the Rebels lead 7-0. Hargens would sit the Raiders down in order to hold the Rebel lead at 7-0 after the first. The Rebels would tally one more run in the second inning with Max Wittmaack ground out scored Boden Bright. The Rebels lead 8-0 after the top of the second. The Raiders would answer in the bottom of the second when Luke Wright knocked in Luke Wernimont to cut the Rebels lead to 8-1. The third and fourth saw the teams scoring drop as the Rebels would only add one run to lead 9-1 after four innings. The Rebels would score four runs in the top of the fifth inning, highlighted by a Boden Bright 2 RBI triple and a Carter Boettcher RBI single. The Rebels would go on to win 13-1 after Hargens closed out the game on the bump.

The win improved the Rebels to 8-8, and the loss dropped the Raiders to 2-10

Hargens picked up the win for the Rebels tossing five innings, allowing two hits, seven strikeouts, and improving to 3-1 on the season; Hargens also went 3/4 at the plate with two doubles, a single, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored.

For the Raiders Luke Wernimont went 1/2 with a single and a run scores, Luke Wright had a single and an RBI
