It was an offensive explosion for the Storm Lake football team Friday night as the Tornadoes defeated visiting Perry 56-31 in front of a big homecoming crowd.
Carson Lullmann had a record setting night throwing for 483 yards and six touchdowns. The senior also ran for 15 yards and had a rushing touchdown. The Tornadoes, who led 28-10 at the half, scored touchdowns on their first six possessions of the game.
Lullmann finished 28-for-36 through the air and his leading targets were Rylan Richardson who had nine catches for 93 yards and two scores. Cam Boyd had seven receptions for 157 yards including a dazzling 64 yard TD reception. Luke Richardson had touchdown catches of 15 and 34 yards, and Braeden Hicks hauled in an eleven yard score.
Storm Lake totaled 534 yards of offense. Perry scored on some big plays in the 2nd half and totaled 424 yards for the game.
Storm Lake is now 2-2 and will play next Thursday at Sioux City-West at 7pm. Perry falls to 1-3.
