The Carroll softball team beat Storm Lake 10-1 in the opening round of the class 4A regional tournament Thursday night at Carroll.
The game was scoreless through the first three innings but the Tigers would plate three runs in the 4th and 5th innings and score four more in the sixth. They had ten hits in the game.
Avery DeHaan took the loss for Storm Lake,the 8th grader allowed ten hits in the game, not all of the runs were earned due to four Storm Lake errors. She struck out two and walked five.
The Tornadoes had three hits in the game off winnning pitcher Alyssa Brant who struck out seven and walked four. Cole Richardson drove in the lone run for Storm Lake with a base hit in the 6th inning that scored Taylor Ripke.
Storm Lake concludes the season with a record of 13-15. Carroll, now 15-16, will play at Humboldt Saturday night in a regional semi-final.
