Storm Lake’s Charlie Dvergsten shot a 76 at Landsmeer golf course in Orange City and qualified for the 3A state tournament which will take place next week at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.
In Class 2A, OA-BCIG’s Axton Miller shot a 74 and was the runner up medalist at Emerald Hills in Milford and qualified for state. The Falcons team placed 3rd after shooting a 323. Boyden-Hull was 1st with a 321, and HWC shot a 322. Alta-Aurelia placed 5th with a 346 and they were led by Jack Bloom and Lucas Baker both shot 84.
Another 2A district tournament was played at Carroll. The South Central Calhoun team placed 4th with a 345 and Justin Hanks led the way with a 77 which qualified him for the state tourney. Ridge View’s Gavin Vohs also qualified after shooting a 76. The 2A state tournament will be held at Coldwater Golf Links next week in Ames.
In Class 1A, the Newell-Fonda boys were 4th place at Le Mars. Mason Dicks was the medalist with a 73 and will now play in the 1A state tournament at Ames Golf and Country Club next Monday and Tuesday.
