OA-BCIG Boys Defeat Alta Aurelia

The OA-BCIG boys basketball team held Alta Aurelia to 19 points after the 1st quarter in their 63-44 win in Ida Grove Tuesday night.

The opening quarter produced seven lead changes and one tied. Alta Aurelia led 25-17 after one quarter of play. The Falcons’ defense went into lockdown mode after that, as they permitted just three 2nd quarter points. OA-BCIG took the lead for good at 28-27, and were up 39-28 at halftime. From that point, the Falcons’ lead only dipped to single digits early in the 3rd quarter.

Brysen Kolar led OA-BCIG with 21 points, while Anthony Newquist chimed in with 13. Jack Bloom had 17 for the Warriors, and Ayden Dullea contributed 12.

The Falcons improve to 10-8, dropping the Warriors to 11-9.

Alta Aurelia wraps up the regular season this Thursday at Cherokee. The Warriors 1A district opener next Monday, February 12th at Ar-We-Va will be broadcast on 97.5FM KBVU.

OA-BCIG concludes the regular season this Thursday at Newell Fonda. The Falcons host Missouri Valley next Monday in the opening round of 2A districts.
