Generals Take Down Sioux Central Girls In Regional Final

Madison Brouwer scored a game high 32 points leading 4th ranked Sibley-Ocheyedan to a 76-57 win over Sioux Central in a 2A regional final played Friday night at Milford.

There were nine lead changes in the first half as the two teams went back and forth but the Rebels were hurt by foultrouble as Morgan Christian and Bradi Krager both picked up three fouls in the first half and that was part of the reason why the Generals finished the first half on a 8-0 run over the last 3:50 to take a 31-24 lead at the half.

They built that lead to 39-25 early in the 3rd quarter and that’s when the Rebels made a charge going on a 14-4 run to close the gap to 43-39 but Sibley-Ocheyedan would close the quarter on a 10-2 run and take a 53-41 lead into the final quarter and the Rebels were never able to get the deficit under ten the rest of the way.

Krager made four 3-pointers and led Sioux Central with 18 points, Avery Wilson scored 16 points off the bench and Christian added 13. Sioux Central concludes their year with a record of 17-7 and they graduate Berkley Johannsen, Halle Laursen, and Kendra Casey.
