Storm Lake’s Mackenzie Harder in the girls 100-meter dash preliminaries finished with a time of 12.36. She finished in 10th place, which doesn’t qualify for the finals.
In the girls shot put, Pocahontas Area’s Halee Hauswirth committed a foul on all three attempts.
In the girls high jump, Storm Lake’s Melanie Chanthapangna tied for 11th place. She cleared the 5-2 bar on her first attempt, but failed to clear the 5-4. Newell Fonda’s Lindsey Wolf tied for 14th place. She cleared the 5-2 on her second try, but failed to clear the 5-4.
