Chariton scored seven runs in the final two innings and beat OA-BCIG 10-1 in a class 2A sub-state final played Tuesday night at Boone.
The Falcons out-hit the Chargers 7-6 with three of those hits coming in the 4th inning in which they scored their only run. Jaxx DeJean, Brysen Kolar, and Kade Spotts each had two hits.
Kolar started the game on the mound and pitched the first two innings and was saddled with the loss. The Falcons used four pitchers in the game.
Chariton’s Jace Gwinn started the game and pitched the first 4 2/3 to get the win and he drove in four runs on the night at the plate.
OA-BCIG concludes the year with a record of 15-9. Chariton, now 24-4, will play next week in the 2A State Tournament at Carroll.
