Charlie Dvergsten struck out 17 batters and pitched a six-hit shutout in Storm Lake’s 1-0 win over Ridge View Monday night.
David Gonzales-Santos hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the 2nd inning and that was all the Tornadoes needed as they won their season opener.
Kinnick Jensen pitched well for the Raptors allowing only four hits while striking out three. Noah Struck had two of the Raptors six hits. Ridge View plays again Tuesday at home against Sioux Central and the varsity game will start at 5pm and it will be broadcast on KAYL.
