The first round of the boys State Golf Tournament was played in Waterloo on Tuesday. In Class 2A, Ridge View’s Kellen Clausen opened with a two-over par round of 74 and is four shots behind the leader. Clausen had four birdies in his round. South Central Calhoun’s Charlie Nattress shot 84 and is tied for 53rd.
In the 3A tournament, Storm Lake’s Trey Boettcher shot 83 and is tied for 55th.
