A busy Thursday across the state with cross country athletes competing for the right to advance to next weeks state meet.
Girls Results
In Class 1A, Alta-Aurelia, Newell-Fonda, and Sioux Central all qualified for State. The Warrior team finished in 2nd place at South Hamilton and were led by Hayden Berkland’s 8th place finish.
The Mustangs won their meet at ACGC and they had three runners finish in the top ten…Mareni Brabec was 4th, Danika Meyer placed 8th, and Quinn Sievers finished 9th.
The Rebels won their meet at Emmetsburg and had four runners qualify individually as well…Sage Weber was 3rd, Marley Madsen finished 5th, Nora Christian 12th, and Karina Bloom placed 13th.
In Class 2A, Ridge View’s Addy Tesch was 8th and OA-BCIG’s Addison Lomholt finished 7th at Sioux Center. South Central Calhoun’s Iris Melody placed 10th at Eagle Grove.
Boys Results
Class 1A, East Sac County won their meet at Emmetsburg and Sioux Central was runner-up. The Raiders had five individuals place in the top 15….Landon Sporrer was 3rd, Riley Aragon 4th, Owen Engel 5th, Oliver Engel 11th, and Xander Hemer finished 15th.
The Rebels had four athletes finish in the top 15…Lucas Wernimont won the race in a time of 16:35, Jack Christian was 7th, Landon Driver placed 8th, and Collin Christians was 12th.
Alta-Aurelia’s Jacob Launderville placed 9th at South Hamilton.
Class 2A meet at Sioux Center….OA-BCIG’s Hunter Maier was 10th and Gabriel Bergman placed 14th. Ridge View’s Odin Hanson placed 13th.
The Class 1A State meet in Fort Dodge will take place Saturday, November 1st with the girls race starting at 2pm and the boys at 2:45pm.
The Class 2A State meet in Fort Dodge will take place Friday, October 31st with the girls race starting at 10:30am and the boys at 11:15am.
