1A–2A State Cross Country Meet Qualifiers

The Sioux Central girls and boys teams both qualified for the State Cross Country meet and so did the Alta-Aurelia and Cherokee girls teams.

1A meet at Holstein Alta-Aurelia placed 1st with 49 points, Sioux Central was 2nd with 51, and Ridge View was 3rd with 59. Alta-Aurelia’s Nora Peterson won the race in a time of 19:02. Hayden Berkland was 4th, Breyer Anderson was 5th, Bree Anderson placed 19th, Lainey Buckendahl was 23rd, Tegan Robertson was 28th, and Kiera Aberson placed 35th.

For the Rebels, Linnea Bloom was 3rd, Marley Madsen 9th, Karina Bloom 12th, Nora Christian 13th, Violet Sangwin 17th, Quinn Wilkinson 32nd, and Matilyn Trierweiler was 49th.

Also qualifying from the meet as an individual were Ridge View’s Addy Tesch, and Newell-Fonda’s Mareni Brabec and Danika Meyer.

On the boys side from Holstein Ogden was 1st with 34 points and Sioux Central was 2nd with 59 points. For the Rebels, Lucas Wernimont was 2nd, Jack Christian placed 6th, Leighton Sippel was 8th, Joshua Hoffman was 20th, Landon Driver was 23rd, Colin Christians placed 25th, and Taylon Withers was 27th.

Also qualifying for the State meet was MMCRU’s Lucas Braun who placed 11th and Ridge View’s Odin Hanson who finished 13th.

In class 2A the Cherokee girls qualified thanks to their 3rd place finish at Orange City and OA-BCIG’s Addison Lomholt finished in 10th place. East Sac County boys team had two individuals qualify, Landon Sporrer was 10th and Riley Aragon placed 13th.

South Central Calhoun had two athletes qualify, they were Iris Melody and Redge Potts. And Manson Northwest Webster had two individuals qualify, they were Alyssa Richman and Thatcher Oswald.

The State Cross Country Meet will take place Saturday, November 2nd in Fort Dodge.
