The Storm Lake Police Department assisted federal and county authorities Wednesday in the arrest of a fugitive wanted on a felony rape charge out of Georgia.
Police say the arrest happened around 11:45 a.m. at a residence at 604 D West 9th St., where officers joined the U.S. Marshals Service and the Woodbury County K9 unit in locating 45‑year‑old Olgard Tunis. Tunis was wanted on a felony warrant issued in Tattnall County, Georgia, charging him with rape.
Authorities report he was taken into custody without incident. Tunis was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was booked and is being held without bond.
