Buena Vista County authorities say a Storm Lake man will now serve a prison term after repeatedly violating the terms of his probation.
Nineteen‑year‑old Rambo Jacky of Storm Lake had his probation revoked this week, and his original sentence was imposed by District Court Judge Andrew Smith. The ruling came down on Tuesday.
Jacky’s case dates back to October of 2024, when he was charged with second degree theft and first offense operating while intoxicated. Prosecutors say he was intoxicated when he stole a vehicle, later crashing it into a tree. Jacky hid from law enforcement after the crash but eventually turned himself in.
He was sentenced in May of 2025. The felony theft charge carried an indeterminate prison term of up to five years, but that sentence was suspended, and Jacky was placed on three years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
According to the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office, Jacky struggled to comply with probation requirements and accumulated multiple violations over the past year. On April 18, he went on escape status. After a formal revocation process, the court ordered his original prison sentence into effect.
Jacky was taken into custody immediately following Tuesday’s hearing. He is being held pending transfer to the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Oakdale.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Buena Vista County Attorney Ashley Herrig.
