Many Storm Lake properties were damaged during storms in the early morning hours this (Fri) morning.
Anyone who would like to volunteer in cleanup Saturday the 19th can come to the Storm Lake Fire Station between 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
To aid residents in the cleanup effort, the City has set up three areas for debris to be dropped off in dumpsters during the next few days.
The locations are:
- Field of Dreams parking area – 5941 Vestal Street.
- Discovery Center parking lot – Hwy 110 and Abner Bell Road.
- Fire Station parking lot – 820 Oneida, parking lot on east side of the building
The City thanks the many volunteers from fire departments around the area who responded to assist in the wake of the storm. Buena Vista County departments were involved in damage response and assessment, as well as Cherokee Fire Department. Spencer Fire Department relieved the Storm Lake firefighters this afternoon. Others from several communities have volunteered their time and equipment to aid in cleanup.
