100 People Who Care Sac County has selected its latest recipient for community support.
At its Oct. 12 meeting, the group voted to award thousands of dollars in collective donations to the Sac County Area Quilters for their Quilts of Valor program. The initiative honors veterans and active service members with handmade quilts, recognizing their service and sacrifice.
100 People Who Care Sac County’s mission is to support charities and nonprofits serving Sac County. Members nominate organizations, hear presentations from three randomly selected finalists, and vote to determine where the funds go. Each member commits $100 per quarter, with all contributions going to the chosen cause.
The next meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Early United Methodist Church. More information is available on the group’s Facebook page at facebook.com/100PWCSC.
