Funeral services for Lois Weathers, 95, of Alta, formerly of Aurelia, will be 11:00 Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia.
The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Lois I. Weathers, 95, of Alta, formerly of Aurelia, will be 11:00 A.M. Lois Irene Beeghley was born May 20, 1927, the daughter of Glen Calvin and Myra Adelaide (Weaver) Beeghley in Aurelia, Iowa. She attended school in Aurelia, graduating from Aurelia High School in 1945. On April 6, 1950 Lois married Louis Edward Pfaff at Cherokee, IA. They had three children; Gary, Ann, and Dan. She worked for several years as a dental receptionist for three dentists in the area. Lou died on January 26, 1984. On June 30, 2001 Lois married Richard Weathers. Lois was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, Sunset Knoll Auxiliary, and an investment club. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, painting, sewing, crocheting, playing cards – especially Bridge, and fishing in Minnesota. They wintered in Texas until they were 90.
Lois died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Wel-Life Assisted Living in Alta, IA.
Preceding Lois in death were her parents, husband Louis Pfaff, son Gary Pfaff, granddaughter Penny Molnar, grandson Gregory Pfaff, and her siblings; Dorothy Shaw, Donald Beeghley, Betty Wentworth, Kenneth Beeghley, and Glen Beeghley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard Weathers of Alta, daughter Ann and her husband Jerry Sandine of Ames, IA, son Dan and his wife Deb Pfaff of Urbandale, IA, and daughter-in-law Ruth Pfaff of Peterson, IA, and four step-children; Nancy and husband Tom Hone of Beresford, SD, Joe and wife Diane Weathers, Dennis and wife Connie Weathers, and Jim and wife Paula Weathers all of Aurelia. Also surviving are eight granddaughters; Wendy Baker and Mike Hellman of Sutherland, IA, Jenn Plagman-Galvin and Jeremy Galvin of Ames, Heather and Tim Wilcoxson of Des Moines, IA, Meghan and Tom Bell of Waterloo, IA, Lindsay and Ryan McClintock of Des Moines, Melissa Pfaff of Waukee, IA, Amy Pfaff of Urbandale, and Kaitlin and Jacob Tweedy of Ames, nine step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; Wendy and John Bailey, Aaron Hobson and Rebecca Melvin, Zachary and Alysha Molnar, Catherine and Travis Morton, Mikka Baker, Annie Galvin, Ellie Wilcoxson, Sophia Bell, Lillie Galvin, Eva Bell, Henry Wilcoxson, Ben Galvin, Oliver McClintock, and Louie McClintock, 26 step-great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; Laurie, Bryan, Ethan, and Ashley Bailey, Cassidy Hobson, Roxi and Cali Morton, Kylaar Baker, and Mia Partridge, four step-great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; Jeanne Beeghley of Dubuque, IA and Shirley Hof of Sergeant Bluff, IA, and other relatives and friends.
