A Buena Vista County resident is among 25 college and university students that received a combined 39-thousand dollars in scholarships to help support their interest in pork industry careers.
Clayton Ehlers of Marathon, who is attending Dordt University, is one of the first-year students that received a one-thousand dollar scholarship.
The scholarships were provided by the Iowa Pork Foundation, the Iowa Pork Producers Association, and the Iowa Purebred Swine Council, as well as the family of a late pig farmer from Washington County.
