Linda Nattress, age 61 of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Linda Kay Townsend was born on April 6, 1961, to parents Ferdinand “Junior” and Eleanor (Fitzgerald) Townsend in Storm Lake, IA. She grew up in Early where she attended Crestland Schools. Linda graduated with Crestland High School’s Class of 1979.

On July 7, 1979, Linda married William “Bill” Nattress in Storm Lake, IA, at the United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with three children: Brandon, Charles, and Brenda. Bill and Linda raised their family in Sac City where Linda worked for many years as a CNA at Park View and Loring Hospital. She also worked in the deli at Food Pride for a number of years. Over the years she made and decorated many cakes for different occasions for not just family, but also people in the community. She did a beautiful job!

Linda loved her family which was quite evident. She appreciated any and all time spent with them. She especially enjoyed attending her grandkids’ sporting events and other activities. She was a crafter and could also sew quite well. Linda loved trips to area casinos and even enjoyed several trips to Las Vegas. Each spring she liked planting flowers and then tending to them over the summer. She was a ‘small but mighty’ gal who wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is. With that being said, she had a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bill Nattress of Sac City, IA; children Brandon (Kari) Nattress of Polk City, IA, Chuck (Sara) Nattress of Lytton, IA, and Brenda (Brian) Schmitt of Wall Lake, IA; grandchildren: Miles and Brooks Nattress, Brock, Charlie, and Cooper Nattress, and Sam, Carson, and Kennedy Schmitt;sister Peggy (Phil) Simons of Kingsley, IA; brothers Jim (Midge) Townsend of Newell, IA, Tim Townsend of Sac City, IA, and Terry Berry of Panama City, FL; sister-in-law Teri (Kevin) Eddie of Storm Lake, IA; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Eleanor Townsend; parents-in-law Virgil and Kay Nattress; brother Jody Townsend; sister Sue (Bill) Bloyer; and nephew Matthew Beach.
