The crop progress report released earlier this week from the U.S. Department of Agriculture said 38-percent of the corn harvest is now complete in Iowa, which is two days behind last year, but six days ahead of the five-year average. Northwest Iowa continues to outpace the rest of the state with 61-percent of corn harvested for grain.
Soybeans harvested statewide reached 74-percent complete, which is 11 days better than the average. 91-percent of soybeans are harvested in northwest Iowa.
