Fort Dodge Driver Arrested Following Meth Discovery Near Manson

Pocahontas County deputies arrested a Fort Dodge man Sunday afternoon after a traffic stop in rural Pocahontas County.

The sheriff’s office says a deputy stopped a vehicle around 4 p.m. on County Road C66, just east of County Road N65 — located about six-and-a-half miles north of Manson.

During the stop, deputies allege they located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver was identified as 63‑year‑old Bryan David Messerly.

He was taken into custody and faces three charges: driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Messerly was booked into the Pocahontas County Jail.
