The former City of Storm Lake Finance Director was arrested this week on multiple charges related to child pornography.
At approximately 1:15pm on Tuesday, the Storm Lake Police Department served an arrest warrant for 52-year-old Brian Oakleaf at 3102 Leona Drive. Oakleaf was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the U.S. District Court Northern District of Iowa on an indictment for offenses of receipt of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
Oakleaf was taken into custody without incident. He was booked in the Buena Vista County Jail pending an appearance in federal court.
According to federal court documents, Oakleaf allegedly possessed and distributed child porn between March 1st, 2022 and July 29th, 2024.
Oakleaf was placed on administrative leave from his position with the City of Storm Lake in late July of last year pending an investigation by law enforcement. Oakleaf resigned as Storm Lake’s Finance Director in August.
