Blizzard Warning in Effect Around the Area

A reminder that a Blizzard Warnings is now in effect for Buena Vista and surrounding counties until 6am Saturday.

A Wind Chill Warning is effect for a few area counties, including Buena Vista, until noon on Saturday.

The National Weather Service says drivers should plan for slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Wind gusts up to around 45-miles per hour will produce widespread blowing snow, which will result in near whiteout conditions beginning this (Thur) afternoon. Those with holiday travel plans should monitor the forecast closely and adjust plans as necessary.

The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as ten minutes. Avoid outside activities if possible. When outside, be sure to wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves.
