Aurelia Hometown Pride Expands Tree‑Planting Effort

Aurelia Hometown Pride is moving forward with the second phase of its “Greening Our Streets” initiative.

The program, launched in partnership with the City of Aurelia, focuses on planting trees in public right‑of‑way areas to improve neighborhood appearance, provide shade, and strengthen environmental health.

Organizers are now seeking property owners with space between their sidewalk or property line and the street who would like a tree planted in front of their home.  Organizers say the right‑of‑way is considered an ideal location for trees that will benefit the community for years to come.

Aurelia Hometown Pride is applying for an additional grant to secure more trees for this phase. If funding is awarded, trees will be planted by the Hometown Pride committee in partnership with the city. All selected sites must meet city guidelines.

Residents interested in participating are encouraged to sign up quickly, as spots are limited. The deadline to join the list is Dec. 19. Those interested in signing up can email aureliahometownpride@gmail.com or check the group’s flyer on Aurelia Hometown Pride’s Facebook page.
