Attempted Murder Trial Set for Dec. 9 in Sac County

A Schaller woman is facing serious charges in Sac County following a violent incident last month. Thirty-five-year-old Jennifer Lynn Rathe has been charged with attempted murder and willful injury after allegedly attacking Paulus Edmund on Sept. 15.

Court documents say Rathe cut Edmund’s throat with a knife and then attempted to stab him. The charges include a class B felony for attempted murder, which carries up to 25 years in prison, and a class C felony for willful injury, which could result in up to 10 years and a fine of over $13,000.

Rathe entered a plea of not guilty on Oct. 23. A jury trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 9 at the Sac County Courthouse.
