Storm Lake police say a northwest Iowa man has been arrested following a reported sexual assault over the weekend.
Officers were called around 5 p.m. Sunday for a report of an assault involving a juvenile. According to investigators, the incident allegedly occurred earlier that day at a residence in Storm Lake.
The Storm Lake Police Department identified the suspect as 48‑year‑old Dany Duarte of Alton. Following the investigation, officers allege Duarte sexually assaulted a female under the age of 18.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was charged with third‑degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. Duarte was booked and held on a $10,000 bond.
Storm Lake police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
