A Carroll man was sentenced today (Mon) in Sac County District Court to a prison sentence for not complying with sex offender registry requirements.
According to a release from the Sac County Attorney’s Office, Nathen Teneyck will serve five years in prison after pleading guilty to Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry Requirements 2nd Offense, a class D felony.
Teneyck was required to register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry following a conviction for Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a minor in 2010. He was required to notify the sheriff in each county where a change of address, employment, or attendance had occurred within five business days. According to a criminal complaint, on February 17th of this year, Teneyck’s wife informed the Sac County Sheriff’s Office that he had not been living at his registered address in Nemaha for the previous week and a half. He was arrested in Ida County on February 19th. Teneyck said he was residing in Battle Creek. He has previous convictions for sex offender registration violations in Crawford County.
The case was investigated by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, and was prosecuted by Sac County Attorney Ben Smith.
