Sioux Central Sweeps Alta Aurelia for Second Time This Year

The Sioux Central girls basketball team picked up their 5th win in a row with a 76-35 triumph at Alta Aurelia tonight (Tues).

Alta Aurelia jumped out to an 8-0 lead. The Rebels were held scoreless for the opening 4:01, but then went on a 9-0 run to take their first lead. The Warriors scored a basket to take the lead back but then Sioux Central went on a 27-0 run which lasted until midway into the 2nd quarter. The Rebels were up 48-16 at halftime. The continuous clock kicked in with five minutes to go in the 3rd.

Five Rebels scored in double-figures, as Bradi Krager had 18, Kendra Casey and Morgan Christian had 14, Avery Wilson 12, and Halle Laursen had 10. Brielle Engelmann had 12 for the Warriors.

Sioux Central has now won nine of their last ten, as they sit at 11-4, and 6-2 in the Twin Lakes Conference. Alta Aurelia goes to 8-8, 3-4.

The Sioux Central boys maintained a perfect record with a 77-57 win over Alta Aurelia.

The Rebels held Alta Aurelia without a field goal in the 1st quarter, and led 25-4 after eight minutes. Sioux Central did not trail in the game, and led by as many as 26. The Warriors were able to keep pace following the slow start.

Jake Hargens pumped in 25 points for the Rebels, and was joined in double-digits by Ethan Mills with 15, Carter Boettcher 12, and Owen Mills had 11. Ayden Dullea had a game-leading 26 for the Warriors.

#6 in 2A Sioux Central is now 14-0, 8-0 TLC. Alta Aurelia goes to 8-7, 3-4.
