81 Units of Blood Collected at Storm Lake LifeServe Blood Drives

A total of 81 units of blood were collected at two LifeServe Blood Center blood drives held this month.

The amount of blood collected has the ability to save up to 243 local lives. The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and over 130 other hospitals served by LifeServe.

Several local donors hit milestones with their most recent donation. Joseph Hanson reached six gallons of blood donated…Cathy Fordyce five gallons…John Steig three gallons…Brendan Smith two gallons…and Michael Wells, Felix Oziomek, Karen Kueny, and Emily Tapia all reached one gallon.

LifeServe blood drives scheduled in Storm Lake during the month of November include Tuesday November 1st from 12:30 to 5:30pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church…Tuesday, November 15th from 10am to 2:30pm at Buena Vista University…and Friday, November 25th from 9am to 1pm at the United Methodist Church.
