219 free haircuts were provided for Storm Lake youth during the Storm Lake Police Department’s “Operation Fresh Start” as part of the Storm Lake Community School District’s “Back to School Jam” at the high school on Tuesday.
Four Storm Lake youngsters donated their locks of hair to “Wigs For Kids,” a non-profit organization that provides wigs at no cost to children experiencing hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, and other disorders.
Ten barbers, beauticians, and stylists donated their time to give the free haircuts including Jennifer Barth, April Weber, Amber Miller, Shelby O’Bannon, Patty Fairchild, Jaime Rodriguez, Teather Ingold, Jose Gomez, Madeline Knapp, and Callie Hoffman.
