Armed Robber of Denison Country Store Sentenced to Prison

A man who robbed the Country Store in Denison was sentenced Thursday in Sioux City to serve 17 years in a federal prison.

24-year-old Nhial Biliew of Denison received the prison term after pleading guilty to one count of interference with commerce by robbery.

Evidence in the case revealed that on June 23rd of 2020, Biliew used a gun to rob the Country Store in Denison. Biliew had previously been convicted for Interference with Official Acts…4th Degree Theft…Possession of Drug Paraphernalia…Providing False Identification Information…and 5th Degree Criminal Mischief.

In addition to 17 years in prison, Biliew must also serve a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

Biliew is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
