Woman Injured in Car vs Deer Collision in Clay County

An Emmetsburg woman was injured when her vehicle struck a deer over the weekend in Clay County.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at approximately 8:15 Saturday night. 51-year-old Stacy Dierkson was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart southbound in the 35-hundred mile of 340th Avenue. A deer entered the roadway, and Dierkson’s vehicle struck the deer.

Dierkson endured minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. The vehicle sustained an estimated 55-hundred dollars in damage.
