Four young adults were taken into custody this past weekend in Clay County on drug, nicotine, and alcohol charges.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 31 hundred mile of Highway 18 shortly before 12:50am on Sunday. The driver and three passengers had all been consuming alcoholic beverages, and they were all transported to the Clay County Jail.
The driver, 18-year-old Peyton Miller-Fanning of Milford was arrested on misdemeanor charges including OWI 1st Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Minor in Possession of Tobacco, and No Insurance.
Two of the passengers, 19-year-old Isabelle Heisler and 19-year-old Lily Clabaugh, both of Estherville, were charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Minor in Possession of Tobacco. Another passenger, 19-year-old Ella Clabaugh of Spirit Lake, was charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The three passengers were released with a court date.
