Storm Lake residents will have several chances to connect with neighbors and local emergency crews during this year’s National Night Out, set for Tuesday, Aug. 4.
National Night Out is a nationwide effort to strengthen relationships between residents and public safety agencies. Storm Lake police, firefighters, ambulance crews and city officials will visit each gathering to share safety tips, answer questions and encourage residents to stay engaged in their neighborhoods.
The Storm Lake Police Department, which has organized the event locally since 1990, announced a slate of neighborhood block parties taking place across the community:
- 13 Vista Dr., 6–8 p.m.
- 1105 Emerald Dr., 6–8 p.m.
- 300 block W. Eighth St., 6–8 p.m.
- 1200 block Erie St., 6:30–8:30 p.m.
- 1300 block Lochedem Dr., 6–8 p.m.
- 201 Sunrise Park Road, 6:30–8:30 p.m.
- Chautauqua Park Drive (condos parking area), 6–7:30 p.m.
- 3000 block Leona Dr., 6–8 p.m.
- 1000 block E. Eighth St., 5:30–7:30 p.m.
- 1700 block Shoreway Road, 6–8 p.m.
- 200 block Michigan St., 5:30–8 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to attend the event closest to them and take part in an evening focused on community, safety and connection.
