The Storm Lake St. Mary’s “Operation Christmas Child” event was successful again this year, as students packed a total of 158 boxes for less fortunate kids, along with others that are in need.
St. Mary’s pre-k through 12th grade students packed the boxes with items such as toiletries, school supplies, and toys. The boxes will be sent to Ukraine, three African countries, and also to Florida to help people affected by Hurricane Ian.
St. Mary’s has now filled, packed, and shipped over 24-hundred boxes since they started the “Operation Christmas Child” program in 2008. The St. Mary’s parishioners helped make the event possible, as they covered the shipping costs for the boxes.
