Storm Lake Names New Fire Chief

Storm Lake has named its next Fire Chief. Terence S. Sinner has accepted the position and will begin leading the Storm Lake Fire Department later this month.

Sinner brings more than three decades of fire service experience, including three years as Division Chief of Fire Prevention and Fire Marshal in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He previously served as Fire Inspector in Casa Grande, Arizona, and spent 20 years with the Department of Defense in federal civil service roles—among them, Battalion Chief.

His career began in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Firefighter and Fire Inspector, with deployments to Romania and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sinner’s background spans fire prevention, code enforcement, hazardous materials response, aircraft firefighting, and rescue operations. He holds numerous IFSAC certifications.

He was selected from a pool of more than 15 applicants following an extensive interview process. A specific start date will be announced once he relocates to Storm Lake.

Sinner fills the vacancy left by former Chief Glenn Schlesser, who now serves in Highland, Indiana, to be closer to family.
