A Storm Lake man was arrested on multiple drug-related charges following a residential search.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, at approximately 2pm Tuesday, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from an apartment at 914 East Milwaukee Avenue. Officers subsequently made contact with the occupant, identified as 51-year-old Nebiyu Seyoum. During a search of the residence, police allegedly seized approximately 70 grams of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.
Seyoum was taken into custody without incident on charges of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a class D felony…Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana and Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used, both serious misdemeanors…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 73 hundred dollar bond.
