Storm Lake K9 Tracks Suspect to Pond After Property Damage Incident

Storm Lake police arrested a local man Saturday evening after officers say he fled from an apartment where property was being damaged.

Police were called to 1500 North Seneca Street around 6:30 p.m. and learned the suspect — 37‑year‑old Christian Quintero of Storm Lake — had taken off on foot before they arrived.

Officers knew Quintero had multiple outstanding warrants and brought in the department’s K9 to track him. The dog led officers to a nearby drainage pond, where police say Quintero was hiding. He surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

Quintero was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on three county warrants charging him with second‑degree burglary, a Class C felony; parole violation and a mittimus to serve 15 days. He was booked on a $10,000 bond.
