Storm Lake City Council Approves Capital Improvement Plan

The Storm Lake City Council on Monday approved the city’s capital improvement plan for fiscal years 2026 through 2030.

Eight-thousand dollars is budgeted for spoil site development. Council member Meg McKeon requested that the spoil site be referred to as something else going forward, as she feels referring to a valuable piece of property as “spoil site” isn’t very inviting for attracting businesses and economic development. Council member Maggie Martinez has also raised that issue at previous meetings.
