The public is invited to attend a Childcare Community Conversation event on Monday, March 11th at 5:30pm at King’s Pointe Resort in Storm Lake.
The event will provide an opportunity for parents, employers, providers, and everyone in the future of childcare in the community. The City of Storm Lake was able to secure a grant that’s allowed for a comprehensive market analysis of the childcare situation in Storm Lake to be completed. A final market analysis presentation will be given during the event, and there will be a question and answer session. The study will be a key tool in developing additional childcare in the form of a childcare center or more in-home care options.
Addressing the childcare shortage is a top goal set by the Storm Lake City Council for this year. A Storm Lake Child Care Committee has been formed to help guide the study.
