No comments were made at a public hearing on the Storm Lake Community School District’s 2025-2026 budget on Wednesday, which the school board subsequently approved.
The budget is the same as previously presented, and includes a 78 cent tax levy increase to 17.95.
District Business Official Trudy Pedersen provided further information…
Pedersen said they’re trying to decrease the unspent authorized budget, saying it should decrease to 19.5 million at the end of this year, and is expected to decrease to 17.9 million at the end of fiscal year 2026.
