The Iowa DOT is informing drivers about a road and bridge closure in the area.
The Highway 3 bridge over the Little Sioux River, just over a mile east of the intersection with Highway 59 near Cherokee, will be closed until mid-November, weather permitting.
A marked detour route is in place using Highway 59, Linden Street/540th Street, S Avenue, and Highway 3. The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.
