Over a Hundred Units of Blood Collected at March LifeServe Events in Storm Lake

A total of 105 units of blood were collected at four LifeServe Blood Center drives in Storm Lake this month.

The amount of blood collected can save up to 315 local lives. The blood drives were hosted to support the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center and over 150 other hospitals served by LifeServe.

Several local donors hit milestones with their most recent donation including Janet Halder, who has now donated 11 gallons of blood…Judy Anderson and James Anderson each reached ten gallons…Karla Pickhinke and Marv Munden six gallons…Dennis Pyle four gallons…Russell Smith and Matthew Forristal three gallons…David Reed and Jaymes Bral two gallons…and Lisa Lindeman, Terry Gransow, and Amy Maier have all donated one gallon of blood.

Two blood drives are scheduled in Storm Lake in April including Tuesday, April 2nd from 12:30 to 5:30p at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church…and Friday, April 19th from 9am to 1pm at the United Methodist Church.
