Newest Iowa Drought Map Shows Another Setback

The latest Iowa Drought Monitor shows another setback in the state.

While conditions in northwest Iowa are mostly unchanged, nearly 72 percent of Iowa is at least abnormally dry, compared to nearly 56 percent last week.

Over 13 percent of the state has moderate drought, an increase of nearly three-and-a-half percent from last week.

Moderate drought in northwest Iowa still includes a small amount of Cherokee County, a portion of Clay County, and most of O’Brien County.

Buena Vista County still has a mixture of normal and abnormally dry conditions.

The latest monitor was released this (Thur) morning with data valid through 7am Tuesday.
