Multiple Individuals Charged For Involvement in Alleged Assault Outside Storm Lake Bar

Four individuals were charged following an alleged disturbance outside of a local bar this past weekend.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to Denoche’s bar at 525 Erie Street at approximately 1:15am Sunday. Several suspects fled from the area on foot. A male victim alleged a group of individuals confronted and assaulted them outside of the bar.

37-year-old Juan Carlos Martinez of Storm Lake, 19-year-old Ignacio Medina of Storm Lake, and 18-year-old Anthony Medina of Sioux City were all charged with Participating in a Riot, a class D felony. Anthony Medina was also charged with Assault While Participating in a Felony, a class D felony. Martinez and Ignacio Medina were each booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five thousand dollar bond. Anthony Medina was booked on a ten thousand dollar bond.

A 17-year-old male juvenile from Storm Lake was issued referrals for Participating in a Riot and Violation of a No-Contract Order. He was cited and released to a parent pending an appearance in juvenile court.
