Investigation Underway into Failed Sounding of Warning Sirens in Calhoun County

Calhoun County authorities are investigating why warning sirens in the county didn’t go off during severe weather on Monday.

Calhoun County Emergency Management says the program that operates the sirens was operating as it should be, and they say the internet was connected. The agency says they had no indication that any of the sirens weren’t working. Officials are contacting the manufacturer about the issue.

A tornado warning was issued in Calhoun County late Monday night.
